  • Do you provide shuttle service from the airport or train station?
Yes! We provide free round-trip transportation to/from the Waterbury-Stowe Amtrak Station. We can also provide round-trip shuttle service to/from the Burlington airport (BTV) for an additional fee.
  • How many miles can I expect to walk on an inn-to-inn tour?
Daily mileage varies and our tours can be adapted to suit a wide range of abilities. In general, most guests are comfortable walking somewhere between 8 and 10 miles per day. Vermont is famously hilly, which can make distances feel longer than they might on a sidewalk.
  • What if it rains on my inn-to-inn tour?
Pack a raincoat because if it rains, you'll probably get a little wet. By the time you arrive at your inn, though, you'll have a warm shower and a dry set of clothes waiting for you. A rainy day in the Green Mountains can still be a beautiful day. Remember: there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!
  • Will there be bathrooms along the route of my inn-to-inn tour?
There will be very few developed restrooms until you reach your next inn. On some days you will pass through a village or find a general store that has restrooms. Your guides are well-versed in backcountry hygiene and will make sure you feel comfortable with Leave No Trace practices before setting out on your journey.
  • Can I bring my dog?
Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome on guided day hikes, provided you let us know in advance (not all trails are dog-appropriate). Unfortunately, we cannot allow dogs on our inn-to-inn tours at this time.
  • What is a "country mile" anyway?
A deceptively long distance, usually based on the hilly or winding nature of a country road or path. Though often more challenging than walking a mile on a treadmill or sidewalk, the rewards include scenic views, good company and more time to experience life at your own pace.
