How It Works

  1. Fill out our quick and easy online form: let us know how long you're visiting for, what kind of outdoor (or indoor) activities you enjoy, and whether you'd like to stay in a tent, a bed & breakfast or a luxury inn.
     

  2. Look out for an email alerting you that your personalized Green Mountain Insider is ready (typically within 24 hours of submitting the form).
     

  3. After we receive your payment, your personalized Insider will be delivered straight to your inbox!
     

  4. Make any suggested advance bookings or reservations. After that it's up to you to enjoy Vermont at your own pace, comfortable in the knowledge that every hike, camping spot, restaurant or inn was independently recommended by a real person who lives here, not an algorithm.

Camels Hump guided hiking tour Vermont

GUIDED HIKING TOUR

Available 7 days a week, late May through mid-November.

This is where we live and work. Take advantage of our local knowledge for the best hikes based on time of year and conditions. Available in the greater Mad River Valley, Waterbury, Stowe and Montpelier areas.

Rates

  • Half-day (4 hours or less): $95 first participant, $15 each additional participant

  • Full day (over 4 hours, trail lunch included): $155 first participant, $20 each additional participant

Guided backcountry cross-country ski tour Vermont

GUIDED BACKCOUNTRY NORDIC SKI TOUR

Available 7 days a week, mid-December through March.

All ages and experience levels welcome! No worries if you're new to skiing: professional instruction is included in your tour as we guide you through a winter wonderland. We use "backcountry Nordic" skis for these tours, which are wider than traditional cross-country skis and have metal edges. Available in the greater Mad River Valley, Waterbury, Stowe and Montpelier areas.

Rates (includes equipment rental and professional instruction)

  • Half-day (4 hours or less): $130 first participant, $45 each additional participant

  • Full day (over 4 hours, trail lunch included): $195 first participant, $65 each additional participant

  • Children 12 and under: $35 half, $55 full (must be accompanied by an adult)

Guided snowshoe tour Vermont

GUIDED SNOWSHOE TOUR

Available 7 days a week, mid-December through March.

All ages and experience levels welcome! Experience the beauty of the Vermont countryside in winter. Available in the greater Mad River Valley, Waterbury, Stowe and Montpelier areas.

  • Half-day (4 hours or less): $110 first participant, $30 each additional participant

  • Full day (over 4 hours, trail lunch included): $175 first participant, $35 each additional participant

  • Children 12 and under: $25 half, $30 full (must be accompanied by an adult)
